Artist Statement I enjoy art. I enjoy photography. I love all of the intricacies that are inherit with photography. An image is alive to me. It grows, evolves and develops over time. The more I look and study an image, the more aspects present themselves and it’s wonderful.
I like to photograph anything interesting: vivid colors, shapes, lines, compositions, subjects, contrasts, etc. It’s always a challenge to take an “un-interesting” scene and turn it into something special in the constraints of an image. Likewise, it can also be a great challenge to come across a wonderful scene and capture it just as it is.
My photographic foundation began with an education at the New York Institute of Photography, and I continue to study and learn and grow. I started with conventional photography, that is, 35mm and medium format film and conventional darkroom. I have since switched to the digital format and love the creative opportunities, from the instant imaging results to the post processing capabilities of the digital darkroom. The present and future of photography is very exciting.
I’m pleased and excited about sharing my work and look forward to adding more images on an ongoing basis. Thanks for stopping by and for your interest!
